Crowley Selects G-Log to Improve Worldwide Logistics Operations

Crowley Will Enhance Customer Service with New Technology

(Jacksonville, Fla.; Oct. 15, 2001) – Crowley Maritime Corporation today announced that after a comprehensive search it has selected G-Log, the leading provider of collaborative global logistics and transportation software, to enhance its logistics operations. G-Log’s Web-native solution will deliver advanced functionality to Crowley’s logistics operations worldwide, giving Crowley the ability to provide superior service to its customers.

Through the G-Log platform, Crowley will provide a comprehensive global enterprise logistics solution that includes order management, optimization, transportation execution, and alert tracking function on a Web-native architecture. By instituting G-Log’s solution, Crowley will enhance its ability to meet customers expectations for accurate, timely and useful supply chain information.

“We evaluated several products in the marketplace and found that G-Log provided the best solution for meeting our complex transportation profile,” said Nancy Ritter, vice president of information technology at Crowley. “We will now be able to proactively expedite orders within the framework of the customers local business and financial requirements, which will lead to reduced costs, streamlined business processes and superior customer service.”

“The G-Log solution will enable us to achieve our goals of efficient workflow, management by exception, and improved automation, thereby maximizing our resources and contributing to greater supply chain efficiency on behalf of our clients,” she said.

G-Log’s platform will enable Crowley’s operations to provide a competitive and differentiated level of service to its customers by providing advanced visibility to freight movements. The agreement will include the initial implementation in two of Crowley’s subsidiaries, Crowley Logistics and Crowley Marine Services, including its energy logistics group.

“We are pleased to have been selected by Crowley,” said Mitch Weseley, CEO and president of G-Log. “By selecting the G-Log software, Crowley will begin providing its customers with a platform for real-time collaboration and actionable visibility within supply chain logistics.”

“The real opportunity in Logistics is not found in simply lowering transportation costs, or enabling visibility into status of orders, but rather being able to extend supply chain planning and optimization across inventory-in-motion,” Ritter added. “Crowley will integrate its existing systems with G-Log, allowing for more efficient operations.”
