Truckers Strike in Guatemala, Road Blocks Continue

Please be advised that cargo movement within Guatemala remains impeded as truck drivers continue their protests throughout the country. At this time, main thoroughfares including the entry/exits to the port of Santo Tomas are blocked. Currently, no cargo deliveries for southbound cargo from the port of Santo Tomas to points within Guatemala and El Salvador are being released. Additionally, pick-ups for northbound cargo from any origin city in Guatemala or El Salvador bound for the port in Santo Tomas are not being performed.

As with any strike, the situation continues to be fluid. We will minimize the impact to cargo operations to the best of our ability while maintaining the safety of our employees, equipment and your cargo and will keep you updated with further information and impact as it becomes available.
