Temporary Peak Season Surcharge (PSS)

Crowley Caribbean Services announces a temporary Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) to be effective September 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018.

A temporary PSS of $200 per TEU will be applied southbound from the United States to the Caribbean, Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands, and from San Juan, Puerto Rico to the Caribbean, Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands. Destinations include Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, Nevis, Saba, St Eustatius, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent, Suriname, Tortola, Trinidad, St Croix, St Thomas, St John US VI, Tortola and Virgin Gorda.

A significantly higher demand for liner transportation is projected during this peak season time period which results in a shortage of containers and vessel space availability for exports from the United States & Puerto Rico on cargo destined to the Caribbean. This surcharge will enable Crowley to recover the higher costs resulting from the increased volumes including equipment positioning, on hiring of additional equipment to cover the increased volume, labor overtime and port congestion. This surcharge will be applicable to all open tariff and service contract rates, and will be assessed as follows:

CAYMAN ISLANDS

All open tariff and service contract rates will be assessed the Peak Season Surcharge for the same time period on cargo from the United States and San Juan, PR to the Cayman Islands as follows:

INTERPORT SERVICE  

The Peak Season Charge will be applicable to all open tariff and service contract rates to/from/between Eastern Caribbean/Leeward/Windward/ABC ports for the same time period and will be assessed as follows:

$30.00 per container (any size or type).
