PRPA Enhanced Security Fee – PR Shipping Association Letter

Please be advised that the Puerto Rico Ports Authority has given notice that collection of charges related to the Enhanced Security Fee from Regulation 8837 will resume April 19, 2017. This action is a result of determinations by the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals. The fee is charged for inspections of inbound cargo using a scanning procedure.

As a result, the enhanced security fee is being reinstated for all shipments to Puerto Rico and effective April 19, 2017:

$74 per container
