New Hacienda Platform

 As a reminder on behalf of the Department of Treasury in Puerto Rico (Departamento de Hacienda), all businesses registered with a Merchant Registration Number (MRN) must register under “SURI” to continue doing business in Puerto Rico. “SURI”, which goes into effect Oct. 31st at 6:00 a.m., is the new monthly sales and import tax filing platform. According to Hacienda, the “PICO” platform will only operate until Friday Oct. 28, 2016 at 3:45 p.m., after which time the conversion to “SURI”, will occur.
