Hurricane Harvey Weather Update

Crowley’s corporate emergency management team is monitoring Hurricane Harvey and taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all shoreside and vessel personnel, assets, and your cargo, that may be in the storm’s path.  For that reason, Crowley’s Houston operations will close at 3:00 p.m. CT, today.  As we continue our monitoring, we will update you on impacts to our schedules, operations or facilities.

The latest weather projections show Hurricane Harvey continues strengthening with winds estimated at 125 mph. This strong Category 3 hurricane may further strengthen to near Category 4 as it comes ashore near Port Aransas, Texas on Saturday morning.  It is then expected to re-emerge into the gulf then track along the Texas coast before making a second and final landfall just east of Galveston on Wednesday afternoon with 70-95 mph winds. Widespread severe to catastrophic flooding is expected over south and southeast Texas with the strongest wind and heaviest rain will impacting the upper Texas coast from Houston to Port Arthur between Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
