Crowley Enters Second Year of Logistics Service Contract With DaimlerChrysler de Venezuela

(Jacksonville, Fla.; March 29, 2001) – Crowley Logistics is now entering its second successful year of providing contracted logistics services to DaimlerChrysler de Venezuela. In addition, the company has expanded its support staff of logistics design engineers and process analysts to support automotive industry clients and tier-one suppliers in the region.

For DaimlerChrysler, Crowley is responsible for the handling, trucking, storing, and dispatching of materials used in the company’s Valencia, Venezuela, automotive assembly plant.

“We transport all of DaimlerChrysler’s containerized parts from Puerto Cabello to our state-of-the-art container yard and logistics center in Valencia,” said John Hourihan, senior vice president and general manager, logistics. “From there, we provide just-in-time delivery of parts to DaimlerChrysler’s assembly plant located less than two miles away.”
