Crowley Announces Organizational Changes in its Corporate Purchasing Department

Matt Jackson Named Vice President

(Jacksonville, Fla.; Oct. 29, 2007) – Crowley Maritime Corporation announced today that Matt Jackson has been promoted to vice president of procurement, replacing Mike Lucero who will retire at the end of this year. In his new position, Jackson remains domiciled in Jacksonville and reports to Susan Rodgers, senior vice president, administration.

Jackson is responsible for all materials management and purchasing for the corporation. He also oversees facilities development and travel. Reporting directly to Jackson are Cal Sweep, director of facilities development; John Azzo, who is transferring to director of materials management East Coast; Alun Jones, director of materials management West Coast, and Vern Johnson, administrator of contracts. While equipment purchasing and leasing will remain with the purchasing department, intermodal pricing, detention and demurrage, and equipment administration will move under Bob Rousseau, who was promoted to vice president of intermodal last week.

Jackson joined Crowley in 2002 as enterprise program manager in the information technology (IT) department. He was then promoted to director, corporate planning, where he assisted with the development of the corporations strategic business plans and objectives. Before his move to Crowley, Jackson worked with a major consulting firm as a supply chain and information technology consultant and was a U.S. Air Force captain serving as an acquisitions officer where he was responsible for project management, procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier management. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas.
