Inland Cost Monitoring – September 2020

For the second quarter of 2020, the CASS Index, which is being used to monitor and evaluate U.S. Inland rates reflected an average of 129.96 for Truckload. As a result, tariff and contract motor rates will remain unchanged  on September 1st. The CASS Indexes can be found here.

For the same period, the Department of Energy’s retail on-highway diesel prices all types index monthly average, which is being used to determine the Intermodal Fuel Charge, was $2.431. Therefore, the Intermodal Fuel Percentage will be reduced to 16% on September 1st. The requirements and index history are available here.

The next quarterly review is set October 2020, after which any necessary adjustments will be made on December 1, 2020.
