Hurricane Dorian – Update 11

Safety remains our primary focus. We are working with the U.S. Coast Guard, local port authorities and other industry voices as Hurricane Dorian continues to move northward along the eastern coast of Florida, to ensure all personnel, vessels, facilities, and your cargo, remain safe.

Port Everglades Terminal, Gate and Warehouse Operations:

The storm has safely passed the south Florida area. As such, we will resume normal business hours at all of our locations tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 4. Additionally, safety assessments have been completed by port officials and the port is beginning to reopen to vessel traffic. Once cleared by local authorities to berth, the vessels which were being held safely at sea, will begin entering port for cargo operations. Jacksonville Terminal and Vessel Operations:

As Hurricane Dorian begins to pass Jacksonville, our terminal and operations are currently closed. We are closely monitoring the storm’s track and working closely with local authorities to determine the viability of safely resuming operations later this week. In our Puerto Rico service, M/V El Coqui (SAL9071S) departed from San Juan northbound safely behind the storm.  She is scheduled for an on-time arrival, discharge, and return to San Juan on Friday, Sept 6. Additionally, El Conquistador (SAL9936S) will depart for San Juan shortly after the M/V El Coqui, giving us two departures for Puerto Rico this week.

As the storm continues to move along the east coast, we will provide further updates. For the latest information on the storm including forecast, strength, movement, and public advisories, please visit the National Hurricane Center’s Dorian page.
