Crowley American Transport Now Offering the Fastest Transit From U.S. East Coast to Aruba and Curacao

(JACKSONVILLE, FL; March 31, 1999) Crowley American Transport has restructured its weekly, fixed-day service between the U.S. East Coast and Venezuela to include vessel calls in Aruba and Curacao. With this enhancement, Crowley is able to offer shippers the fastest transit times in the trade three days from Port Everglades to Aruba (four days from Jacksonville) and four days to Curacao (five days from Jacksonville).

Cargo cutoffs in Jacksonville are at 7 p.m. Wednesdays with vessel departures at 8 a.m. Thursdays, and at noon on Fridays in Port Everglades with vessel departures at 2 p.m. Crowleys 17 knot container vessels arrive in Aruba at noon on Mondays, and in Curacao on Tuesday mornings.

“Weve reduced transit times by three days to Aruba and by one day to Curacao,” said Frank Larkin, Crowley Vice President and General Manager, East Coast South America Service. “No other carrier offers faster, more dependable service to customers shipping time-sensitive and perishable products to these locations.”

“Customers benefiting from this enhanced service include shippers moving items such as lumber, grocery store merchandise and cruise ship supplies, as well as general merchandise needed by local merchants who depend on imported goods for their livelihood,” Larkin said.

Crowley previously served Aruba and Curacao via its service between the U.S. East Coast and North Coast of Colombia.
