Resolved – Driver Strike – Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala

2016-03-14

The truckers strike at the entrance to the port in Santo Tomas, Guatemala, has been resolved and all parties involved have come to a resolution. To maintain schedule integrity and to avoid missing our normal docking window in Puerto Cortes, Honduras as part of our normal service, an operational decision was made to depart Santo Tomas. After our initial arrival and discharge of the vessel and partially load back with northbound cargo, we proceeded to Puerto Cortes and completed operations.

The vessel has arrived back in Santo Tomas for a second port call in Santo Tomas to complete operations and pick up the remaining cargo. Operations will start at 1800 today, March 12 and depart Santos Tomas, GT at 0300 on Sunday, March 13. Expected arrival into Port Everglades, FL is noon on Tuesday, March 15.
