Inland Cost Monitoring – June 2019

For May 2019, the CASS Index, which is being used to monitor and evaluate U.S. Inland rates reflected an average of 135.3 for Truckload. As a result, tariff and contract motor rates will be reduced by 2.24% on August 1st, 2019. The CASS Indexes can be found here.
For the same period, the Department of Energy’s retail on-highway diesel prices all types index monthly average, which is being used to determine the Intermodal Fuel Charge, was $3.161. Therefore, the Intermodal Fuel Percentage will increase to 25.5% for August 2019. The requirements and index history are available here.

The next review is set for July 2019 after which an appropriate adjustment will be made if necessary.
