Hurricane Florence Update #2

Crowley’s Corporate Emergency Management Team is monitoring Hurricane Florence, which is currently heading towards North Carolina’s coast with landfall forecast for the morning of Friday, Sept. 14. According to the latest weather advisory by Storm-Geo, the storm is currently 785 miles east-southeast of Wilmington, N.C. Maximum winds are 140 mph, making Florence a Category 4 hurricane with further strengthening possible.

Safety is Crowley’s No.1 core value, and as such, we are taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, vessels and your cargo. 

Please note that the Port of Wilmington will be closed for all cargo effective at 19:00 this evening, Tuesday, Sept. 11, until after the storm. We will continue to update you on Wilmington port calls as we know the impacts from the storm as it advances and passes.
