As you may be aware, the Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana, S.A. de C.V. (OPC), in Honduras implemented a new procedure in March, requiring that all local services carried out by the Puerto Cortes port operator for imports be directly billed to the importer/consignee in Honduras by OPC. Previously, OPC would bill Crowley for these services, and then Crowley would invoice the importer/consignee.
Effective April 15, 2016, Crowley will no longer invoice customers for these services. In order to receive invoices directly from OPC, consignees are required to complete the Declaracion Jurada De Datos (Sworn Data Declaration) and submit it to the OPC Customer Service window at the port for registration into the OPC system. This form was included in the original notification from OPC and is also available here. If this form is not submitted before April 15, customers risk delays at the port as all services will have to be paid for directly to OPC before imported cargo can be released.
