Tropical Storm Dorian – Update 3

UPDATE 3 – 08/27/2019 – 1600hrs

Safety is Crowley’s No.1 core value. As such, we are taking all appropriate steps to ensure safety of personnel, including our mariners, vessels and your cargo as we actively watch the Tropical Storm Dorian in the Caribbean.

At this time, we are monitoring the viability of having our vessel, Pegasus J (DOM9035S), enter Rio Haina, Dominican Republic for operations tomorrow. While we do not yet have final decisions from Dominican Republic and Haitian authorities regarding port closures, it continues to be likely that cargo arrival into both the Dominican Republic and Haiti will be delayed due to the storm.

Additionally, our offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico, including the port, terminal and warehouse, will have reduced operation hours for Wednesday (August 28). We will be open for normal operations from 0700-1300. Hacienda will also close at 1300 Wednesday.
The storm is currently 370 miles to the east-south-east of Ponce, Puerto Rico and moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph. On the forecast track, the center of Dorian will move across the eastern and northeastern Caribbean Sea during the next few days, pass near or south of Puerto Rico on Wednesday, near or over eastern Hispaniola Wednesday night, and north of Hispaniola on Thursday.

As the storm track is further defined, we will provide appropriate updates on its impact, if any, on your supply chain. We will continue to coordinate with our vessels to keep them clear of the storm, and with our shoreside personnel to make appropriate preparations at our facilities in order to protect people, equipment and cargo.
