Puerto Rico Security Charge Increase

To Our Valued Customers,

Due to the continued escalation of security costs associated with Crowley’s terminals and vessels over the past several years, Crowley is implementing a Security Charge increase effective June 26, 2011.

The increased costs are associated with improvements required by C-TPAT and Homeland Security.  An example of government mandated requirements include container security, infrastructure improvement, procedural security, security training, IT security, physical security, personnel security and security assessment and response improvements.

Present Security Charge (contract customers only):  $75 per container / trailer
Effective June 26th Security Charge (contract customers only):  $120 per container / trailer

Present Security Charge (open tariff and contract customers):  $18 per POV (privately owned vehicles)
Effective June 26th Security Charge (open tariff and contract customers):  $25 per POV (privately owned vehicles)

Present Security Charge (open tariff and contract customers):  $25 per Breakbulk shipment (not in trailer)
Effective June 26th Security Charge (open tariff and contract customers):  $30 per Breakbulk shipment (not in trailer)
