Nicaragua Inland Trucking Strike Announced

The following announcement is related to the regulations surrounding the maximum weight allowed for inland trucking in Nicaragua as issued by Ministerio de Transporte e Insfraestructura (MTI). We have been informed that on Friday, February 20th, 2015 there is a scheduled general strike by the trucking association. This strike is the result of a disagreement by all trucking companies regarding the excessive overweight fine imposed by the MTI.

Due to the impending strike, we urge you move any urgent or critical cargo to the port prior to the announced strike. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as more information becomes available.
