How Physical Health and Well-being Benefits Enhance Work
Crowley is in the business of keeping the world connected and supplied. To that end, we believe a healthy and happy workforce is productive and engaged. Our flagship and holistic award-winning well-being program, GO.THRIVE is designed to support beyond the standards, starting with physical health.
A Commitment to Well-being
While GO.THRIVE includes exercise and nutrition. It offers tools and resources for resilience, prosperity, and less tangible factors, such as having a sense of purpose. Above all, it’s about understanding our people’s health and considering their overall quality of life.
For 2024, Crowley got its highest ranking and was named a Platinum Award winner for FCWWC Healthiest Companies. The award included our wellness programs and employee benefits in the U.S. and Central America.
We’ve partnered with leading healthcare providers to offer top-tier health insurance plans, including various healthcare options like telehealth services that can adapt to our people’s lifestyles.

A Healthier and Stronger Community
We organize various employee-led activities, from company-wide fitness challenges to volunteer events. These opportunities promote physical health and foster strong bonds between colleagues and the communities we serve. Our employees are passionate about health and fitness, and we’re proud to support their interests.
Crowley’s Eddy Nguyen, an advocate of employees’ physical well-being, said these components combine with his leadership and desire to motivate others. A director in Logistics, he has participated and led team members on the First Coast Games hosted by the YMCA, an event in which Crowley has participated for over 8 years. The games are about promoting health and wellness and a competitive spirit.
Through baseball, bowling, soccer and other activities, our teams engaged in competitive wellness events, which is also about thriving together. For Nguyen, these experiences strengthen employee bonds and highlight the importance of health, teamwork and meaningful connections within the workplace to support his purpose.

“The main reason behind my ‘why’ is making a lasting impact on someone’s life through my involvement in promoting health-related events. If even one person benefits and experiences a positive change because of these efforts, that becomes my legacy with them for life. Knowing that an event I promote could improve someone’s life in any way fulfills my mission. The rewarding feeling of making that difference motivates me to keep doing it,” he explained.
Employees can engage in other community-focused events through our well-being program, which includes group fitness classes, team sports and volunteer opportunities. Besides his involvement in the First Coast Games, Nguyen has supported the creation of Crowley’s group in the annual Corporate Run in Jacksonville. He believes this experience creates a balance between personal health and professional responsibilities.
Crowley’s group is a team of running and walking enthusiasts of all skill levels. They come together to participate in local 5K races and other wellness events, including some supporting nonprofit organizations that blend fitness with community impact. Some events include the Heart Walks across the U.S. by the American Heart Association and Nguyen’s favorite, the Gate River Run in Jacksonville.
“Participating in group activities translates to increased energy and focus on work performance. This alignment between personal health and workplace culture ultimately enhances morale, engagement and business performance, which creates a positive ripple effect throughout the organization,” said Nguyen.
