Growing Responsibly

Growing Responsibly

Sustainability means creating opportunities for our people and communities. In 2024, we continued our commitment to wellbeing, technology and development through strategic partnerships, business resource groups (BRGs) and Crowley Cares, our employee volunteerism and philanthropic program.

See how we’ve invested in our people-first approach to drive long-term success.

We’re building a stronger, more inclusive future by investing in people and strategic partnerships. In 2024, Crowley’s community and workforce development efforts reached more than 10,000 students through hands-on education, offering over 30 scholarships, mentorship and career exploration by students.

Business resource groups (BRGs) drove outreach and engagement. Partnerships, such as with Year Up, Junior Achievement, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida and the U.S. Coast Guard, helped expand access to development opportunities, scholarships and internships.

We supported internships and provided sea time for students at maritime academies. In total,169 cadets gained essential hands-on experience aboard Crowley vessels. These programs open doors to careers in maritime, logistics and transportation.

We have invested in our mariners and maritime operations by installing Starlink high-speed satellite internet across our fleet. This technology provides our mariners with faster and more reliable connections to their families as well as the digital tools they need at sea. It supports safer navigation and more efficient operations. By harnessing innovative technologies like Starlink, we reduce delays and enhance performance. Meanwhile, we support the well-being of our crews, who power global supply chains.

Our people demonstrated a powerful commitment to giving back, contributing more than 7,300 hours of volunteer work across the U.S. mainland, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Central America. With nearly 800 employees engaged, efforts supported more than 200 charities, including local food drives, disaster relief, veteran support, environmental cleanups and neighborhood improvement. This dedication reflects Crowley’s culture of giving back and creating change where it’s needed most.

We celebrated receiving more than 20 awards and accolades that honored our people, culture, environmental stewardship and wellness excellence. These include Top Employer distinctions across several categories and organizations, as well as the Jones F. Devlin Awards for outstanding commitment to safety and the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council Platinum Award. Receiving this recognition underscores Crowley’s leadership and dedication in advancing its workforce, industries and the communities it serves.
