UPDATE: Winter Weather Alert- 1/29/2014

Dear Valued Customer,

In follow-up to our previously announced weather alert, Winter Storm Leon has delivered a path of snow and ice from parts of Texas to the coastal Southeast, coastal Mid-Atlantic and Northeast since early Tuesday morning. Travel problems have been widespread and severe in many portions of the South. Delays are being felt in many states and some areas are experiencing delays in excess of 24 hours.

Fortunately, by Thursday afternoon, highs should rise into the 40s over much of Alabama, north Georgia, and South Carolina including Atlanta and Charleston, S.C., allowing some significant melting to begin by early afternoon in these areas. Once again, however, low temperatures early Friday morning will bottom out in the 20s from the Carolinas to the Deep South, meaning there may be some refreezing of roads and bridges where water was left standing by Thursday’s warmer temperatures.

Crowley would like for everyone to continue taking the necessary safety precautions and recommend additional inland transit time be given in order for cargo to be delivered to the appropriate port in time for the selected sailing. At this time, all previous announced cut-offs remain unchanged and are outlined below. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide more information as it becomes available.

v Gulfport, MS terminal closed for the remainder of the day Wednesday, January 29th and at this time is rescheduled to open for normal business hours on Thursday, January 30th.
