Crowley Puerto Rico Fuel Index

Due to the volatility of fuel prices, Crowley will temporarily amend our fuel charge review process for Puerto Rico. Instead of a quarterly review of fuel prices for Puerto Rico, we will review fuel prices of LNG and MGO on a bi-weekly basis.

In our North Atlantic service, Crowley uses the average price of MGO fuel, along with an index to determine fuel charges. Based on the average MGO price of $1,135 per metric ton in the last bi-weekly period (March 1-14), an adjustment to Fuel Charges between Eddystone, Penn., (Penn Terminals) and Puerto Rico will be made effective April 15, 2022.

In our South Atlantic service, Crowley uses the weighted average price of LNG and MGO fuel, along with an index to determine fuel charges. During the last bi-weekly period (March 1-14), the average price of LNG was $4.65 per MMBTU  and the average price of MGO was $1,135 per metric ton.

Based on the combined averages of MGO and LNG prices there will be an adjustment to Fuel Charges between Jacksonville, Fla., and Puerto Rico effective April 15, 2022 as outlined below:
