Hurricane Florence Update #3:

From Crowley’s Corporate Emergency Management Team – Hurricane Florence is projected to make landfall along the North Carolina coast Friday evening. Maximum sustained winds are 125 mph, making Florence a Category 3 hurricane with further strengthening possible.

All appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, vessels and your cargo are being made. 

Port Update

The Port of Wilmington is currently closed and will remain so until the storm has passed, and the Port Authority and U.S. Coast Guard have performed a damage/operational assessment. 

Rail Update

CSX Charlotte will close this evening at 19:00.  All southbound cargo received prior to the closure will move to its destination as scheduled.  Operations will be suspended to and from Charlotte beginning tomorrow with northbound traffic holding in Fort Lauderdale.  Shipments moving between Florida and the Northeast will also be held at origin beginning at midnight tonight.

Trucking Update

Given the expected conditions, trucking operations within the Charlotte area are suspended tomorrow and Friday.
