Hurricane Irma Weather Update #7

As Hurricane Irma, now a Category 4 hurricane, tracks towards Florida, we are seeing disruptions beyond our control with many of our services throughout the Caribbean Basin, including Central America. However, we can report that some of our operations are resuming normalcy.
Safety is Crowley’s No. 1 core value, and as such we are taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, all of our vessels and your cargo. We are coordinating with our vessels to review their routes and plans to keep them well clear of the storm. Our Crowley team has made appropriate preparations at shore-side facilities to protect the safety of personnel, equipment and cargo.
The Port of San Juan, PR is now open to inbound and outbound vessel traffic. Our San Juan terminal and logistics facilities resumed normal operations at 0700 EST today, Friday, September 8th.
Hurricane Irma’s impact on the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands continues to be assessed. The St. Croix facilities are fully functional, however all other facilities remain closed at this time.
In the western Caribbean, as of this morning, the port of Rio Haina, as well as our terminal and offices in the Dominican Republic are currently open. Haiti, and Cuba offices continue to be closed until further notice.
The port of Port Everglades, FL, set Condition Yankee at 0800 EST today, Friday, September 8th, indicating the onset of gale force winds in the next 24 hours. Our Port Everglades terminal, Miami offices and warehouses are closed today Friday, September 8th and will remain closed through the weekend.
The port of Jacksonville is expected to set Condition Yankee at 1800 EST today. Crowley’s Jacksonville terminal will remain open and will be closed on Saturday, September 9th through Monday, September 11th. Our Jacksonville offices and warehouses are closed today through Monday, however our Customer Support Center will be available during normal business hours.
The FEC rail terminal in Port Everglades, FL is closed until further notice. Norfolk Southern rail terminal in Atlanta, GA is not accepting cargo bound for Ft. Lauderdale, FL. CSXT has discontinued accepting traffic destined to FEC locations until further notice. The Jacksonville rail operations are closed for in-gate cargo, and out-gate will close at 1700 EST today, Friday, September 8th.
