Crowley Receives Prestigious Toyota Logistics Services Award for Excellence in Customer Service

(Jacksonville, Fla.; March 26, 2002) – Tom Crowley Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Crowley Maritime Corporation, accepted Toyota Logistics Services prestigious Award of Excellence in Customer Service for 2001 on behalf of subsidiary Crowley Liner Services last week at the Meadowood Resort in Napa Valley, Calif.

Crowley Liner Services, part of the corporation’s liner services segment, transports Toyota’s vehicles between the United States and Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Jim Byers, vice president, Toyota Logistics Services, and Don Esmond, senior vice president and general manager, Toyota Logistics Services, presented the award to Crowley.

Criteria measured by Toyota, in which Crowley excelled, included damage prevention, quality and customer service. The company was among a select group of rail, motor and ocean carrier transportation partners to be recognized at the awards dinner.
