(SEATTLE; November 9, 2000) Crowley Marine Services announced today that David Van Handel has been appointed Senior Account Executive and Scott Hoggarth has been appointed Manager of Customer Service for Crowleys harbor services group in the Pacific Northwest. Both are domiciled in Seattle and report to Rob Grune, CMS General Manager, Harbor Services.

Van Handel has worked for Crowley for 10 years and has held many positions, including Deckhand on Crowley tugs in Valdez, Alaska; Dispatcher in San Francisco and Valdez, and Manager of Customer Service in San Francisco and, most recently, Seattle.

As manager of customer service, David has been responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction with the harbor services we provide in Seattle, Grune said. He has developed a solid working relationship with many of our customers, which will help him in his new role as Account Executive.

Hoggarth has been a tug dispatcher for 13 years with numerous assignments in Anchorage and on the North Slope of Alaska for Crowley. Most recently he was a customer service representative for the harbor services group in Seattle. Prior to joining Crowley, he worked for the Seattle Marine Exchange and several Seattle-based shipping agents.

Scott has spent most of his career working in the Seattle maritime community, Grune said. He is well known, is well respected and knows the customers. Providing exceptional customer services is a Crowley hallmark and I know Scott will ensure that we carry on that tradition.
