Mario Leon Joins Crowley as Director of Business Development, Transportation Management

(Jacksonville, Fla.; March 20, 2001) – Mario Leon has joined Crowley logistics as director of business development, transportation management, based in Miami. In his new position, Leon promotes the company’s new transportation management center, which is designed to help customers achieve cost reductions and service efficiencies by taking an integrated approach to all segments of domestic and international transportation. He reports to Tom Ming, vice president, business development for Crowley’s logistics group.

Leon joins Crowley with more than 25 years experience in the transportation industry specializing in the Latin America, Caribbean and South Florida markets. During his career he has worked in a number of executive management positions for companies including Carotrans International, Yellow Freight Systems, Inc., Yellow Consolidation Services and Equipsa, Inc.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Biscayne College in Miami, Fla., where he was also a member of the National Dean’s List.

“Mario’s knowledge of Latin America and his understanding of local customs and practices in the region will allow him to overcome supply chain challenges there,” Ming said. “His background, combined with the resources available through our Transportation Management Center will make for meaningful logistics solutions for our customers.”
