Love Promoted to Corporate Secretary For Crowley Maritime Corporation

(Oakland, Calif., June 1, 2000) Crowley Maritime Corporation has announced the promotion of Bruce Love to Corporate Secretary. In his new position, Love is responsible for shareholder relations, legal requirements of our corporate entities and other duties associated with the legal structures of the Crowley companies, both domestic and foreign. He is domiciled in Oakland, Calif., and reports to William P. Verdon Sr., Vice President & General Counsel for Crowley Maritime Corp.

Love joined Crowley in 1983 as legal counsel for the company’s contract work and was promoted to Corporate Counsel in 1987. As Corporate Counsel, Love provided legal review on real estate transactions, contracts (including IT and Telecom), environmental matters and employment-related issues for Crowley. He will retain these responsibilities in addition to his new duties as Corporate Secretary. He also played significant roles in the sale of Red & White Fleet and Catalina Cruises, and in the recent Y2K Project, ensuring advice on all legal matters associated with that project.

Love holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
