Crowley Transports Milestone Toyota Vehicle to Puerto Rico

(Jacksonville, Fla.; May 23, 2008) – Crowley announced today that it participated in a historic shipment for Toyota de Puerto Rico. With the unloading of the barge, the group celebrated the 400,000th car that Toyota de Puerto Rico has imported to the island to date. Though Crowley only carries the cars imported from the United States to Puerto Rico and not those from Japan or other places, the two companies have had an exclusive relationship since 1994 in the Puerto Rico trade, during which time Crowley has carried over 150,000 cars for them.

“Crowley prides itself on having the No. 1 team of auto transportation specialists in the market, which is the reason why Toyota of Puerto Rico has exclusively trusted us to transport vehicles from the United States for the past 14 years,” said Roberto Lugo, Crowley’s vice president of Puerto Rico services. “We are proud to be able to contribute to the success of Toyota of Puerto Rico and we hope to continue this partnership for years to come.”

Crowley has consistently maintained the high quality logistics and security standards needed to transport automobiles during this longstanding partnership. As a testament, Toyota Logistics Services has awarded Crowley with six consecutive Excellence in Service awards.
