Crowley Opens New Distribution Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
(Jacksonville, Fla.; June 30, 2003) – Crowley Logistics announced today that it has initiated operations at its new distribution facility in Jacksonville, Fla., at the Westside Industrial Park.
This location will be used to offer warehousing, consolidation, distribution, and cross-docking services to existing and future customers. Crowley will merge the current warehousing activity, taking place at the company’s Ellis Road location, into the new facility.
“This facility is the latest addition to the company’s distribution center network,” said John Hourihan, Crowley senior vice president and general manager. “It allows us to better enable our customers to gain greater control of their supply chain and improve the efficiency of their operations.”
In addition to the new Jacksonville location, Crowley has warehousing facilities in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia and Miami, Florida.
These facilities support Crowley’s Transportation Management Center which offers customers a single source for all their worldwide transportation needs, offered individually or on an integrated basis. The center provides freight forwarding, ocean transportation, inland transportation, airfreight transportation, warehousing and distribution and customs house brokerage.
