Crowley Liner Services Receives Costa Rica Chamber of Exporters 1999 Award For Best Service to the Export Community

(Jacksonville, Fla.; January 21, 2000) Crowley Liner Services this year became the first ocean carrier ever to receive the Costa Rica Chamber of Exporters (CADEXCO) Award for Best Service to the Export Community. Samuel Guzowski, Foreign Trade, Commerce and Industry Minister of Costa Rica, presented the award to Jorge Campabadal, Crowleys General Manager, Costa Rica and Nicaragua Services, at an award ceremony held recently in San Jose, Costa Rica. Miguel Angel Rodriguez, President of the Republic of Costa Rica; and Antonio Burgues, President of the Chamber of Exporters, were also on hand for the award presentation.

Costa Rica Exporters nominated Crowley for the award based on a number of criteria including the companys record for continuous service in Costa Rica; weekly fixed-day sailings; investments in the Limon container yard; new high tech refrigerated containers; specialized equipment like 45-foot (102 W) trailers; and cargo tracking and bill of lading services via the internet.

CADEXCO represents the exporting sector of Costa Rica, striving to promote the highest level of success and accomplishment for all exporting companies. The organization presented handmade wooden awards depicting the export process from the workers harvesting in the field to the transport of products exported worldwide.
