Asplund Named Director of International Marketing For Crowley Marine Services – East Coast and International

(Jacksonville, Fla.; May 10, 2000) Nate Asplund has been named Director of International Marketing for Crowley Marine Services – East Coast and International. In his new position, Asplund has principal responsibility for developing the Corporations logistics and related multi-year service contracts for the Energy Industry, primarily in the international arena. He also provides a lead role in identifying and promoting strategic integration of Energy Industry services, drawing from the logistics systems and design capabilities of Crowley Logistics; the asset and operational expertise of Crowley Marine Services; and the project management services of Crowley Marine Transport.

Asplund joined Crowley in 1994 as a Corporate Planning Senior Analyst in Oakland. Since that time, he has held multiple positions with the company including Manager of Planning for Crowley Marine Services in Seattle, and Project & Marketing Manager for Crowley Marine Services in Caracas, Venezuela. In Caracas, Asplund was a major force in implementing energy logistics services for clients such as BP Amoco and Exxon Mobil.

For the last two years, Nate has served as Director of Marketing and Solutions Development for Crowley Logistics Inc, assisting in the start-up of the Corporations Third Party Logistics division, now providing services for auto and apparel customers such as Ford Motor, Daimler Chrysler, Tower Automotive, and Fruit-of-the-Loom.

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Asplund reports to Steve Peterson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, of Seattle-based Crowley Marine Services – East Coast and International. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics, with a minor in Marketing, from Ohio State University and a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics, with minor in Business Administration from Washington State University.
