2015-01-29

As announced in November 2014, Crowley is utilizing the CASS index to monitor costs and adjust inland rates in Tariffs and Contracts. The indexes can be found here: CASS Indexes.

The CASS Index level for Trucking reflected a 3rd Quarter Average of 121.3 for Truckload and a 129.7 average for Intermodal (Rail). These numbers were set as the initial baseline.

For the 4th Quarter, the CASS Index level reflected an average of 124.8 for Trucking and an average of 131.7 for Intermodal (Rail). Compared to the baseline, the Trucking index increased 2.89% and the Intermodal (Rail) increased 1.54%. As neither of the changes were more than 5%, the Inland Rates will remain unchanged for this review period.

The Baseline indexes will remain at 121.3 for Truckload and 129.7 for Intermodal (Rail). We will review quarterly again in April, July and October. You can view the requirements and Index history here.
