Puerto Rico Earthquake – Update #1
UPDATE 1 – 01/07/2020 – 1100 hrs.
Our thoughts are with the people of Puerto Rico who have been impacted by a series of earthquakes over the past several days, including a 6.4 magnitude earthquake early this morning, just south of Ponce that has knocked out power throughout the island.
We are actively monitoring the situation and taking steps to ensure the safety of personnel and your cargo remain our top priority. Following a thorough inspection of our facilities and equipment this morning, our shoreside container operations are continuing with no immediate delays to cargo sailing or delivery.
While power outages continue to effect the entire island, Crowley’s office, terminal and gates are open and operating normally with generator power. Cargo operations for Deneb J are scheduled to begin at noon.
Because of limited truck availability around the island, our warehouse in Guaynabo will be closed today. Hacienda and all government offices will be closed today as well.
