Inland Cost Monitoring – August 2019

For July 2019, the CASS Index, which is being used to monitor and evaluate U.S. Inland rates reflected an average of 138.0 for Truckload. As a result, tariff and contract motor rates will increase by 2.0% on October 1st, 2019. The CASS Indexes can be found here.

For the same period, the Department of Energy’s retail on-highway diesel prices all types index monthly average, which is being used to determine the Intermodal Fuel Charge, was $3.045. Therefore, the Intermodal Fuel Percentage will decrease to 24% for October 2019.The requirements and index history are available here.

The next review of the CASS Index and Intermodal Fuel Charge is set for September 2019 after which an appropriate adjustment will be made if necessary.
