On January 23 2002, the crews of Crowley tugs Chief and Protector proudly assisted the U.S. Navy with the escort of aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson in the final six miles of its journey home from war. Ecuadorian Naval Training Ship Visits San Pedro with an Assist from Crowley

In August 2002, the Ecuadorian naval training ship Guayas, a 257-foot square-rigged ship with a 384 feet main mast, docked at the Crowley pier in San Pedro. Crowley tugs Admiral and Tioga escorted and assisted the ship to the berth. The Guayas serves also as the country's ambassador taking the message of peace, fraternity and the Ecuadorian culture to the places it visits.
