ATLANTIC LNG PROJECT - PLANT CONSTRUCTION
In 1997 and early 1998, Crowley transported over 24,000 tons of cargo from
the US Gulf to Trinidad in connection with the Atlantic LNG project development
at Point Fortin, Trinidad. Crowley utilized two tugs and two barges in continuous
service on a dedicated basis. Because of significant restrictions in draft and
maneuvering space in the harbor at the Atlantic LNG site, timing and co-ordination
of vessel and cargo operations were critical aspects to this project. In addition
to transportation, Crowley worked closely with the customer to schedule delivery
of shipments, provided technical support for sea fastenings and loading operations
and coordinated vessel movements in the restricted port of Point Fortin.
