Podcast: Tom Crowley Discusses the Future of LNG as a Marine Fuel
As presented by The Maritime Executive (January 2019)
The IMO will be enforcing a new cap on the sulfur content of marine fuels beginning on January 1, 2020. One of the alternatives to high-sulfur fuel is LNG, a cleaner alternative that can reduce emissions and provide compliance with the new rules. To learn more about LNG as a marine fuel, The Maritime Executive’s editor in chief, Tony Munoz, spoke with Tom Crowley, the chairman and CEO of Crowley Maritime Corporation. Crowley is a pioneer in using LNG at sea, and it operates two new LNG-fueled Con/Ro ships on a regular service between Jacksonville, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. For the details, listen in to their conversation below.
