Gulf Facility Explosion in Puerto Rico

At 12:30 am last night there was a massive explosion among the tanks at the Gulf Refinery - Caribbean Petroleum Corp. - in Puerto Rico where 11 of 35 tanks caught fire. The refinery is located in Buchanan in the area of Puerto Nuevo. The Coast Guard has shut down portions of San Juan Bay and it is not clear when it will be reopened to all cargo operations.

The Crowley facilities have not been impacted and are operating as usual but our Friday arrival of JAX9103s Barge Miami, which was scheduled to arrive at 0700 will be delayed until 1300 this afternoon.

We will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate the possible effects this could have on our operations. Crowley will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
