Truckload & Intermodal Cost Indexes for the 1st Quarter of 2015

For the first quarter 2015, the CASS Index, which is being used to monitor and evaluate U.S. Inland rates, reflected an average of 125.1 for Truckload and 131.9 for Intermodal (rail). Compared to the established baseline of 121.3 for Truckload and 129.7 for Intermodal (rail), the Truckload Index increased by 3.13% and the Intermodal (rail) increased by 1.76%.  As neither of the indexes reflected a +/- 5% change, the inland rates will remain unchanged for this review period.The indexes can be found here: CASS Indexes.

For the second quarter review, the baseline indexes will remain the same, 121.3 for Truckload and 129.7 for Intermodal (rail). The next review period is set for July 2015. Crowley would also like to note at this time, future indexes will be evaluated and adjustments made to inland rates for Tariffs and Contracts based on a +/- 2% change from the current baseline.
