Tanker History

Crowley-Tanker-Coast-Range

Crowley has a long history of transporting petroleum products and chemicals.  Up until recently, Crowley owned and operated Jones Act product tankers, ranging from 240k bbls to 300k bbls.  These vessels were capable of carrying refined products and EZ chemicals.  They were operated on the U.S. Gulf, East, and West coasts under voyage and time charters.  The final company tanker was retired in 2011 as the company has now designed, built and begun operating safer, more efficient and more cost-effective ATBs.
