Congress Approves Reform Process for Miscellaneous Tariff Bills

04/27/2016 04:05 pm

Congress has approved the reform process for developing and enacting Miscellaneous Tariff Bills (MTBs). This decision affords the opportunity for individual companies to submit requests for a duty reduction or suspension on goods that aren’t produced domestically and don’t have a competing product reduced competitively and on good for which the tariff revenue loss is under $500,000. This potential of reduced or suspended tariffs is designed to help increase the importer’s competitiveness.
