September 13, 2017 - 1 p.m. Eastern - Post Storm Irma Update

Post Storm Update: 1 p.m. Sept. 13, 2017

Our thoughts remain with those who have been affected in any way by the powerful Hurricane Irma. 

Our services in the U.S. and throughout the Caribbean and Central America have resumed normal operations, with the exception of St. Maarten and Anguilla, which continue to be assessed and will remain closed until further notice.

The port of Port Everglades, Fla., is now open to vessel traffic. Most gantry cranes are fully functional although a few others are undergoing repairs and are expected to come back online later this week. Our Port Everglades terminal, Miami offices and warehouses are operating normally.

The port of Jacksonville, Fla., is open for barge operations and it is expected to open for ship traffic later this afternoon. Our Jacksonville terminals, offices and warehouses are operating normally.

Rail terminals are open and restarting normal operations. Truck power is resuming in the affected areas of Florida and Georgia.

Tropical Storm Irma Update: 1 p.m. Sept. 12, 2017

In the aftermath of Irma, we are resuming normal operations. As services come back online, safety remains our primary focus. 

The Port of San Juan, PR, is open and our logistics facilities are operating as normal.

Irma's impact on the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands continues to be assessed. Our St. Croix facilities are fully functional. Transport and logistics services to St.Thomas have now been established from our U.S. and San Juan, PR, terminals.

In Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba our terminals and offices are operating normally.

Our Port Everglades terminal resumed operations today at 1200 EST. The port of Port Everglades, FL, is currently performing navigational assessments prior to reopening the port for vessel traffic. Our Miami offices and warehouses are beginning to reopen. We are receiving freight at the warehouse this afternoon. Our offices and warehouses in Miami will be fully opened starting tomorrow, September 13, at 0800 EST.

Our Jacksonville terminal resumed operations at 1300 EST today. Our offices and warehouses are beginning to reopen. The port of Jacksonville, FL, is currently performing navigational assessments prior to reopening the port for vessel traffic.

Rail services are now operating normally. Truck power is beginning to resume in the affected areas of Florida and Georgia.

As Tropical Storm Irma continues her north/northwest movement through Florida, Georgia and Alabama, we are happy to report that some of our operations have returned to normal. However, we are continuing to experience disruptions beyond our control with many of our services throughout the southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean Basin, including Central America. 

Safety is Crowley’s No. 1 core value, and as such our Emergency Management team continues to closely monitor both Tropical Storm Irma and Hurricane Jose. We continue to take all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, all of our vessels and your cargo. We are beginning assessments of our affected facilities as it is safe to do so. 

The Port of San Juan, PR, is open and our logistics facilities are operating as normal.

Hurricane Irma's impact on the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands continues to be assessed. The St. Croix facilities are fully functional. Transport and logistics services to St.Thomas have now been established from our U.S. and San Juan, PR, terminals.

All FEC rail operations remain closed and assessments are underway. The Jacksonville rail operations are closed until the storm has passed and safe assessments have been completed.

Hurricane Irma strengthened back to a strong Category 4 hurricane before crossing the Lower Florida Keys. It is now moving towards Southwest FL, passing close to Tampa, FL. We continue to see disruptions beyond our control with many of our services throughout the Caribbean Basin, including Central America. Still, we can report that some of our operations are returning to normal.

Safety is Crowley’s No. 1 core value, and as such our Emergency Management team continues to closely monitor both Hurricanes Irma and Jose. We are taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, all of our vessels and your cargo. We are coordinating with our vessels to review their routes and plans to keep them well clear of the storms. Our Crowley team has made appropriate preparations at shore-side facilities to protect the safety of personnel, equipment and cargo.

The Port of San Juan, PR, is now open to vessel traffic. Our San Juan terminal and logistics facilities resumed normal operations Friday, September 8.

Hurricane Irma's impact on the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands continues to be assessed. The St. Croix facilities are fully functional. The US Coast Guard has indicated that vessels can come in to St.Thomas during daylight hours only. Transport and logistics services to St.Thomas has now been established from our U.S. and San Juan, PR, terminals.

In the Western Caribbean, Jamaica, Haiti and the port of Rio Haina, as well as our terminal and offices in the Dominican Republic, are operating normally. Cuba offices continue to be closed until further notice.

The port of Port Everglades, FL, is currently closed. Our Port Everglades terminal, Miami offices and warehouses will remain closed through the weekend. Assessments will be done once the storm passes and it is safe for personnel to enter the facilities.

The port of Gulfport, MS, is currently operating under Condition X-Ray, which means that gale force wind conditions are expected within the next 48 hours. We will continue to monitor developments with the port.

The port of Jacksonville, FL, is currently under Condition Zulu and all operations have ceased. Crowley's Jacksonville terminal, offices and warehouses are closed and will remain closed through Monday, September 11. Our Customer Support Center continues to be available during normal business hours.

Crowley's offices in Tampa, Fla., are currently closed.

All FEC rail operations in and out of Florida have been suspended until further notice. CSXT has discontinued accepting traffic destined to FEC locations. The Jacksonville rail operations are closed until the stom has passed and safe assessments have been completed.

The Port of San Juan, PR is now open to inbound and outbound vessel traffic.  Our San Juan terminal and logistics facilities resumed normal operations yesterday, Friday, September 8th.    

Hurricane Irma's impact on the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands continues to be assessed. The U.S. Coast Guard has indicated that vessels can come into St. Thomas during daylight hours only and Crowley has already started to move emergency supplies.

In the western Caribbean, as of this morning, Jamaica, Haiti, and the port of Rio Haina, as well as our terminal and offices in the Dominican Republic are operating normally.  Cuba offices continue to be closed until further notice.

The port of Port Everglades, Fla., is currently closed.  Our Port Everglades terminal, Miami offices and warehouses will remain closed through the weekend.

The port of Jacksonville, Fla. is currently under Condition Yankee and it is expected to establish Condition Zulu at 2000 EST tonight, at which time all operations will cease.  Crowley's Jacksonville terminal, offices and warehouses are closed and will remain closed through Monday, September 11th.  However, our Customer Support Center will be available on Monday during normal business hours.

All FEC rail operations into and out of Florida have been suspended until further notice.  CSXT is not accepting traffic destined to FEC locations.  The Jacksonville rail operations are expected to close at 1700 EST today, Saturday, September 9th.

The port of Jacksonville is expected to set Condition Yankee at 1800 EST today.  Crowley's Jacksonville terminal will remain open and will be closed on Saturday, September 9th through Monday, September 11th. Our Jacksonville offices and warehouses are closed today through Monday, however our Customer Support Center will be available during normal business hours.

The FEC has suspended all mainline and local train service until further notice.  All FEC terminals are no longer accepting in-gate traffic and out-gating shipments at Ft. Lauderdale and Miami closed at 1200 EST. In addition, the FEC terminal in Jacksonville will close out-gating traffic at 1500 EST today, September 8th.  Norfolk Southern rail terminal in Atlanta, GA is not accepting cargo bound for Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  CSXT has discontinued accepting traffic destined to FEC locations until further notice.  The Jacksonville rail operations are closed for in-gate cargo, and out-gate will close at 1700 EST today, Friday, September 8th.

Crowley’s Corporate Emergency Management team continues monitoring Hurricane Irma, which remains a major Category 5 hurricane impacting the Caribbean Basin. The hurricane also is expected to impact the U.S. Gulf and the southeast Atlantic coasts later this week.

As expected, we are seeing disruptions with many of our services, including those involving the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, the Caribbean Islands and Central America.

Our St. Thomas, St. Croix, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic offices remain closed until further notice.  Our Port Everglades and Miami offices and warehouse will be closed on Friday, Sept. 8.

The port of Port Everglades, Fla., is open and still operating under U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Condition Whiskey since 0800 EST today. Condition Whiskey indicates that gale force winds are expected in the area within the next 72 hours. It is further projected that the port will close at 1900 EST tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 7, under Condition Yankee, and will remain closed under Condition Zulu beginning Friday, Sept. 8, at 0800 EST.

Rail operations are also beginning to be impacted by the storm. The FEC rail terminal in Port Everglades will close today, Sept. 6, at 2000 EST until further notice.  Jacksonville rail operations will in-gate close at 1000 EST tomorrow, and out-gate close at 1700 EST Friday, September 8th.

September 5, 2017 - Noon Eastern - Hurricane Irma Update

Crowley’s Corporate Emergency Management team continues monitoring Hurricane Irma, which has strengthened to a major Category 5 hurricane as of Tuesday morning, threatening the Caribbean Basin.The hurricane also could create potential impacts along the U.S. Gulf Coast, Florida, as well as the coasts of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, based on current forecasts.

Safety is Crowley’s No. 1 core value, and as such we are taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our mariners, all of our vessels and your cargo. We are coordinating with our vessels, and they are being directed to review their routes and plans to keep them well clear of the storm. Our Crowley team also is making appropriate preparations at shore-side facilities to protect the safety of personnel, equipment and cargo.

At this time, we expect disruptions with many of our services, including those involving the Leeward Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, the Caribbean Islands and Central America.

Our St. Thomas and St. Croix offices are closed today and tomorrow. Although our San Juan, Puerto Rico terminal is currently open, it will close at 1400 EST Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the hurricane. San Juan is expected to be closed Wednesday as well.
